Selective coupling as institutional response to sustainability development in electric utilities

چکیده

Electric utilities are in an environmental sensitive industry, exploiting natural resources and contributing to climate change issues. The focus of critical stakeholders on sustainability agendas management approaches the increasing tight sector-regulations pressure electric act distribute reports declaring their performances goals towards achieving targets. However, literature criticizes utility’s reporting practices as form impression being decoupled from actual compliance. This paper analyzes light institutional theory compliance with or decoupling under-researched electricity sector by identifying coverage materiality implemented control systems for development. Quantitative qualitative methods used including correlation- variance analysis material indicators expert interviews. study contributes having identified a sector-wide continuous selective coupling utilities. Furthermore, this found that implementation mechanisms governed hybrid logics which still at early stage.

Advanced Process Control in Electric Utilities

Figure 1. Reduction in variance after MPC is applied. M odel-based predictive control (MPC) is a valuable, proven advanced process control (APC) approach that has been used for some time, especially in the chemical and hydrocarbon processing industries. It has been underutilized until recently in the power industry, and in that segment, MPC is now also showing dramatic results. The strength of ...
